Alyssa Quinlan, a physicians assistant, has spent the past two years working with young children struggling with cancer. Because of their daily interaction with these brave youngsters, Alyssa and other members of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Department at Schneider Childrens Hospital (SCH) regularly look for ways to show their support. For instance, some staff members have donated their hair to national organizations whose mission is to supply the treasured commodity to children who suffered hair loss as a result of illness and/or drug therapy. Alyssas problem stemmed from the fact that her hair is highlighted, which caused many such organizations to refuse her offer to help. Not one to give up, Alyssa came across a hair donation group called Children with Hair Loss, who are more than happy to be the recipients of her generosity. Alyssa has asked several of her young patients to channel their inner stylist and cut for the cause.
