How To Conceive A Baby Girl

by Adrian Hardmann on 15/07/2009

We know that you love the baby boy you conceived, but you’ve had no luck with girls and you are still wanting to have a little princess in your life. If this is your case, then you’re probably looking into the ways on how to conceive a girl. Is it even possible to increase the chances of having a female? The short answer is that yes, many couples are using certain techniques to successfully conceive baby girls.

There are many couples who believe that expensive and risky clinical methods are the only answer to the question of how to conceive a girl. While, that may be true to a certain extent, it still not an absolute certainty that you will even become pregnant using lab techniques, let alone conceive a girl. Therefore, it makes sense to try natural techniques as well.

Did you know that men are the ones who determine the sex of the baby? If you remember from your high school biology classes, it’s the X or Y chromosomes in the sperm that ultimately dictate whether a male or female will develop from the fertilized egg. Remember also, that eggs contain only the X chromosome, so if it’s a X sperm that fertilizes the egg, you’ll have a baby girl.

Sperm can survive within the female’s body for a while, given the right environment. Millions of sperm are deposited with each ejaculate and not all the sperm can make it past the vaginal canal and the cervix, but it only takes one to fertilize and egg and result in a pregnancy.

Once sperm enters the female reproductive tract, and considering that there is a fifty/fifty chance of a boy or girl, how to conceive a girl becomes a matter of which sperm, X or Y reaches the ripened egg first. Female or X sperm is known to be stronger but moves more slowly than male or Y sperm which is weaker but moves more rapidly.

When you have sexual intercourse a few days before ovulation and refrain afterwards, then the likelihood of having a female baby is going to increase. This can be explained by the fact that since X sperm can survive for up to seven days in the woman’s uterus, it can ultimately reach the fallopian tube when the ripened egg is released and fertilize it before the Y sperm. Even though Y sperm is faster, it is weaker and the likelihood that it will survive past the ovulation period is less than that of the X sperm.

How to conceive a girl seems like it might take a bit of effort to work successfully, but judging by the number of happy couples who use natural techniques to conceive and give birth to baby girls, it is certainly worth the effort. Remember that no guarantees can be made other then you’ll cherish your new baby, boy or girl.
